5 out of 5 stars I won't lie to you..There's much occurin' in this show   December 27, 2008
one of the Beebs most hilarious comedies in years, sketch shows killed the genre and Ruth Jones and James Corden have resurrected the genre.
i haven't been this enthralled with a comedy since The Vicar Of Dibley or the Catherine Tate Show...and now i think this is certainly one of the greatest shows of its kind and one of the best British shows ever to hit the lil' telly.
the characters here are so basic that everyone can relate to the clans from Bellarickay and Barry Island (not Barry's Island as it doesn't belong to a chap named Barry).
the humour is at the top of its game every single week right up to the recent Christmas special which will hopefully soon get its release.
this is a genuinly crowd pleasing show and is a heartwarming treat upon every view...i wish it all the success in its future,James Corden and Ruth Jones are extremely talented and well credited to come up with this masterpiece of comedy.
but the highlight of the show has to be Uncle Bryn wonderfully portrayed by Rob Brydon,he was made for the role.
i recommend Gavin and Stacey to everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Oh... What's Occuring? I won't lie to you Stace but you look rough!   December 26, 2008

Wow. The Mighty Boosh is on it's thrid series and it's become cruder all the while. Britian is thristing for a new true to life comedy (Little Britian has grown old and the boxset is now on a shelf with those singing christmas slippers) and here it is presented in the form of Gavin and Stacey.
Gavin is an ordinary boy from Essex with a fat best mate Smithy and a mum called Pam and a dad called Michael. They themselves are very stereotypical people. It is very true to life, almost like the show itself has picked out life's funniest moments, whether you are a twenty something couple, a fat 'best' man, a middle aged couple trying to impress their in laws. Uncle Bryn, and I feel I have to tell you about him as he is just hilarious. He is sad. One word that sums it up an innocent, sad, blading man who likes his new Sat-Nav, thinks www. stands for Wales Was Wonderful and is a fan of james Blunt.
Nessa. 'Oh the Xbox is going a bit steep kid at the very most I'd vye for a Playstation One at the most. Be off with ya. Alright Gav? Sit on Santa's knee while she has a fag break. It's the rules.'
that was from the Christmas special. I gather that over 6 million people watched that so I'm hoping that such a wonderful series can be given true credit.
All packedged up nicely I think you will love it personally. If you have a sense of humor and arn't completly insane about sex, drugs, rock and roll and the occainsonal swear-word then your in for a treat.
thanks for reading and I hope you have found this helpful!

I love this boxset, already had series 1, but we thought... why not pay a few pound more and get both series in one :)
