Batman Blu Ray December 31, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Overall this film is very sharp but does suffer from the ocasional noticeable grain. The picture quality is good and is worth the upgrade to Blu Ray just don't expect to be dazzled as this has simply been transfered and not touched up or remastered. The sound is dolby true hd and whilst DTS hd would have been better the sound is still decent. Also all the bonus features from the 2 disc dvd version are here on 1 blu ray disc so if you are a big Batman fan then this film is recommended.
be warned though, I have just found out that Warner have planned a special blu ray release of this film next year to mark the official 20th anniversary of the film. As this already contains a wealth of bonus material rumours are that it will have a fully remastered picture and sound.
Batastic! December 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, this is not as good as the dark knight with characters and plot, but it is near enough better in picture. Before, I thought that Blade Runner was the best old film on blu ray but this knocks it out of the competition. It makes me ask the question, why is it that something just under 20 years old can have far superior picture than new, hi-tech films that just turn out appalling? (e.g. 300) I could not recommend this film on blu ray more as it is extremely enjoyable and looks spectacular, hopefully the rest will look just as good.
