Brilliant! November 27, 2008 The film is yet again a Pixar classic. Unfortunately the Slinky sucks! It's pathetically small and won't even go down a flight of stairs. Please, save your money and buy from somewhere that doesn't have the slinky, it's not worth the disappointment.
Pixar's most adult film to date November 25, 2008 Wall-E what a great film aimed square at the Children's market but containing so much more for Adults than previous Pixar films (possibly Pixar's most adult film to date). How can you make a robots story so sad so human and yet keep the integrity of the story, it's a skill that Pixar have carried off. As a bonus you get the Pixar short presto one of the funniest of the shorts produced so far. Along with a further shorts and straight to this DVD stuff related to the film. As usual there are so many extras on this two disc set you won't find yourself putting this down for some time.
you will love the robot , but the film is too long November 19, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Brilliant animation, endearing central 'character', nice plot line, and the environmental issues are well handled , and not rammed down your throat - consequently they will be lost on most of the kids that watch it , I suspect - nevertheless , it's good to see it in mainstream cinema , and you never know, subliminally.................... However , the intensity and pace of the action really got to me about 3/4 of the way through, and 1/2 hour of it could have been cut out ( and I don't usually have attention span problems - it was the same in Ratatouille - why do the always overdo a good thing? - it's for kids for god's sake, they are happy with a shorter film ). see it though!
WARNING NOT FOR CHILDREN!!! November 18, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
i understand what pixar and disney were trying to do - promote global issues in a way kids can understand however the ideas are very adult and i wouldnt recommend for kids. BUT........... this is a master piece for adults. it has humour, the love story, the real life threats and the general likability factor!! this is a special movie and the first of its kind!! a must see for adult disney fans as we can understand the impacts and the messages that are to advanced for a childrens film. in addition youll end up loving wall-e and wanting to take him home :)
Pixar's best yet. November 16, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I lost faith in humanity when i saw that this film has the same rating as Kung Fu Panda, which i enjoyed, but left no lasting impressions whatso-ever. Everyone else has already gushed over the film so this is just my attempt to bump the average score up. No other film can make a character watching TV so emotional. I would however agree that this isnt really for young kids, but thats not a reason to give it a low score.
